Our Agronomic Practices for the Generation of Carbon Credits
1
Application of organic farming principles
2
Minimal soil tillage: Zero tillage (direct seeding) / Minimum tillage (tillage max 10-15cm – without turning)
3
Intercropping: protection and promotion of biodiversity through the integration of 2 or more species of crops/plants/trees in the same plot simultaneously
4
Soil greening (spontaneous or sown) / use of cover crops, use of cover crops for the whole year where/when possible
5
Creation of buffer zones, windbreaks, and hedges along the edges of orchards or cereal crops
6
Management of pruning residues: pruning residues used as amendments/mulching
7
Use of Strengtheners (rock powders: zeolite, kaolin, etc.) to enhance the natural defenses of plants and organic foliar fertilizers
8
Drastic reduction in the use of synthetic fertilizers (at least 15%)
9
Gradual reduction of synthetic pesticides (at least 50% in the first year compared to the status quo) as per regulations
10
Recycling of organic matter from processing
11
Planting of new orchards/olive groves or thickening of existing ones
12
In the case of extensive crops, promote crop rotation so that the same species returns to the same land at suitably long intervals
13
Conversion of land cultivated with annual crops into pastures/meadows or permanent crops
